In a close game the Columbus Crowd got by the Tampico Stogies by the score of
3 to 1.
Columbus came through with the game-winning runs in the top of the 9th inning
scoring 2 runs. J.D. Drew led off the inning for Columbus when he drew a
walk. After an out was recorded, Hank Blalock stepped in and he cleared the
fences for a two-run home run (his 12th of the season). Columbus won despite
being out-hit by Tampico 9 hits to 6.
Bobby Madritsch(3-5) went 1 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the win.
Latroy Hawkins earned the save, his 8th. Carl Pavano(8-13) ended up with the
loss.
